Guilty Gear offers the most unique character playstyles in a fighting game, since more than half of the roster, employs inputs and mechanics that can’t be seen in other characters. The Guilty Gear franchise has been running for more than two decades, and with -STRIVE- on the horizon, it’s only getting better!
If there’s one negative thing I can say about Guilty Gear’s characters, is that there are too many of them that we only got the chance to play once or twice, and the biggest roster we’ve had so far in a GG game is 25 characters (in GGXXACPR and then GGXRD -REV-). Unfortunately -STRIVE- launches with a mere 15 characters, which I hope will finally surpass the 25-mark, even if it has to be through DLC.
You can reference the full roster of each game on our separate character lists:
|Character||GG (1998)||GGX (2000)||GGXXACPR (2002-12)||ISUKA (2003)||SIGN (2014)||REV (2015)||STRIVE (2021)|
There are only 9 characters that have appeared in all Guilty Gear games: Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Faust, Ky Kiske, May, Millia Rage, Potemkin, Sol Badguy & Zato ONE (only missing in Isuka, which it’s a kind of spin-off GG game).
