On February 4 of 2019, countless streamers were tuned in for the final countdown of the official release of a new battle royale game, that received tons of attention, even from the first day of its release. Apex Legends gained 50 million players within its first month out, and many were speaking about a game with brand new, game-changing combat mechanics, that got the attention of many PRO FPS players.
At first, it seemed like the popular PRO FPS players would easily dominate the leaderboards, but the stats showed the opposite. Players like Shroud, Skadoodle, DrDisrespect and more, are not even close in the top 10 of best players, as less popular players – some of them not even in the e-sports scene at all – have reached the top tier of the rankings, and this is actually a good thing to see. I think that it is kinda sad to see 40k+ views on popular streamers, while more good players come into the FPS game scene, totally unnoticed. Thankfully, some of them already starting to get the attention and fanbase they deserve.
As time passed, and we are now crossing the mid-season 2, the leaderboards of the game have started to take a more stable form, making it very clear who is dominating King’s Canyon. The following list will break in two parts, listing the PC, PS4, and Xbox players separately, and I’m going to rank them according to global kill count, as I consider it a more important factor than the win count. Kills are what make an FPS player, a good player.
Plus, wins are also demanding a good team most of the times, while kills are based on a player’s own skills and only, on how to handle harsh situations with many people. Wins can get guaranteed easier when a team hides or camps continuously, until this one last team that is looting, gets fired off with dozens of ‘nades.
Stats were taken by Apex Tracker, which has done the best possible to provide those stats. Unfortunately, official leaderboards are yet to be released, so Apex Tracker is doing the tracking of Apex Legends Stats and Leaderboards, on Xbox, Playstation, and Origin platforms. It can only track the banners only, so some info might be missing, as the only way to provide all stats is to equip the banner that indicates the stat you want to be tracked in Apex Tracker, and keep it equipped until the stats are refreshed, which happens every one hour approximately.
