A Way Out is one of the smartest ideas to ever come out from Hazelight. The developers took split-screen co-op gaming seriously in order to deliver what will many deem a unique experience. With a huge emphasis on co-op, players take control of Leo and Vincent, two convicts who attempt to break out of prison. Together they cooperate to survive stressful situations and progress further.

Leo and Vincent must work together throughout the course of the game, either by distracting enemies, escaping situations or solving puzzles. The blend of action, stealth and puzzle-based gameplay makes A Way Out an original attempt by Hazelight to break into a fertile domain.

It Takes Two is the second game by Hazelight to attempt split-screen gaming, and to everybody’s surprise, the game was a step above its sibling, A Way Out. Being a co-op-only game didn’t make It Takes Two any less recommended. Players have to rely on each other’s expertise in order to tackle all difficulties.

The game’s plot sees you venturing with two married couples Cody and May on the brink of divorce. The two of them are later trapped inside the bodies of two dolls owned by their daughter, Rose. Consequently, they’re forced to cooperate in order to break free from this curse, an adventure that would reunite their relationship, and create a stronger bond once again. It Takes Two’s original plot is both charming and sad, however, the developers have succeeded in delivering an adventurous tale you won’t find anywhere.

Rocket League is basically just soccer but instead of using feet to kick the ball, players use wheels to do so in stylish ways. Not too much can be said about Rocket League other than the fact that it was an indie hit during its initial release.

The game’s premise is simple: players are thrown to a futuristic soccer field, and the aim is to guide a massive ball to the opposing player’s goal. Controls take some time to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, the game is an enjoyable experience. Two players can either team up or confront each other in competitive mode.
