The Book of Margahan is one of the BDO Adventure Logs, and instead of permanent account buffs, it unlocks an extremely cool system called “Agris Fever”. This is a buff that you will notice sits in the top left bar next to your Node Investment Benefit, and will provide you with a whooping (and stackable) 150% increase in junk item drop (the points are family-bound of course).
This effectively more than doubles the trash loot amount you get from killing mobs, heavily raising the amount of silver you can make. By completing both books in Book of Margahan, you can have up to a maximum of 20,000 Agris Fever points stacked, with 4,000 of them replenishing each day at 06:00 UTC for EU, and 20:00 EDT for NA.
As the developers noted, this feature is meant to help mostly players that are unable to grind for long hours on a daily basis, so that they can get a bit more out of their grinding time.
Hopefully completing both books is quite simple, in contrast with the rest of the Adventure Logs. I suggest you scan through the requirements below, so that you can have a couple of items on your inventory before you get started.
The 1st book will definitely take less time to complete than the second one, but it can also get way more confusing, especially without following a guide.
You will need to have a few items in your inventory for the 2nd chapter, so make sure to get them before you get started!
In order to begin the quest for the Book of Margahan, you need to be level 60 and simply talk with the Black Spirit, to accept the relevant quest. Then, you will have to navigate to Edan in Ancient Stone Chamber, in order to unlock the book and get started on its tasks.
Book of Margahan – 1st Book Rewards:
Goal: Go to the Altar of Agris
Fast Method: Navigate north of Altar of Agris, as shown in the screenshot, stand right in the middle and interact with it.
Goal: Give 10 x Single type of the Fruit, 30 x Bear Meat & 100 x Wheat to Altar of Agris.
Fast Method: If you are lucky, you will be able to buy all of these items from the Central Market. If not, please check their links in order to identify how you can get them yourself.
Goal: Go to the hidden place in the coastal cave of Velia
Fast Method: Navigate to Coastal Cliff, and find the cave shown in the screenshot above. Get inside, and keep an eye on your left for a glittering blue light, as shown in the next image. Simply interact with it.
Goal: Go to the hidden place in Cron Castle
Fast Method: Navigate to Cron Castle, and a few meters before you reach the auto-path destination, you will notice the spot shown in the screenshot above. You will have to go through the window, carefully jump to the roof below, then climb on the battlement on the other side.
Goal: Combine the stone tablet with Alustin’s help, then go back to Edan.
Fast Method: Navigate to Alustin, the Alchemist of Velia, and Chat with him to get the combined Agris Stone Tablet. Then head back to Edan in Ancient Stone Chamber, and give it to him in order to complete the 1st book, and activate your Agris Fever buff (you will get 3,000 points straight away)!
The 2nd book doesn’t include any complex steps, just some grinding. ?
Make sure to speak with the Black Spirit again, so that you can accept the 2nd book’s quest.
Each chapter will buff your Agris Fever.. buff, so check each chapter for the particular rewards.
Book of Margahan – 2nd Book Rewards:
Goal: Kill 2,500 monsters in Sausan Garrison.
Goal: Kill 2,500 monsters in Crescent Shrine.
Goal: Kill 3,000 monsters in Sherekhan Necropolis.
Goal: Kill 3,000 monsters in Manshaum Forest.
Goal: Kill 3,000 monsters in Star’s End.

I have to disagree here nicolon.
Even without opening the screenshot in fullscreen, it’s obvious where you should go, since there are arrows and literal written steps as to how you should reach the roof on the other side.
The screenshot also manages to capture the auto-path destination, along with the window, the ledge, and your final destination.
If you are confused as to which auto-path destination you should choose, it’s self-explanatory that you need to auto-path to the Cron Castle Node (there is a big room for error when you click right on top of the node icon, if you try to click several locations in close proximity to it, you will notice that all of them direct to the same location – I’m sorry if this guide was indeed harder for beginners).
Thx. a bunch for the guide – finished Book 1 in less than 1 hour. Most time it took was getting the bear meat, everything else was pretty much just running from one location to the next and interact there as prompted. Very nice and easy to follow… (and I’m not a native english speaker).

I share your opinion, since I literally struggled with some steps, so I wanted to make sure the screenshots would explain all the tough parts!

I’m not sure to which step / book you are referring to.
In order to turn in materials to the altar, you need to make sure you are Level 60 and have accepted the relevant quest line by interacting with the Black Spirit. Then, you navigate to the altar as shown in the screenshots, and once you stand right in the center, you will notice that the “Interact” action pops-up in your UI, so you can speak with the altar, and turn in your materials!
You need to close chapter 1 1st before you are able to hand the materials for chapter 2

Allow me to heavily disagree Kuku.
It’s actually the best guide you can find for maxing out the Agris Fever buff, without having to waste a whole day on it.
Each screenshot is super descriptive on where you need to go, and the “Fast Method” of each Chapter is this – a fast method.
The guide was released literally the same day as the Book of Margahan did, and I actually received a ton of praise from the BDO community for acting so fast on it, and providing such an easy to use guide.
I know you won’t take the time to answer back, but I’d be really curious to learn why “this is a bad guide” for you. I’m sorry you couldn’t use it effectively.
This is a really good guide, thanks for making it! Only area that I got a little stuck on was that it took me a minute to realize I needed to accept another quest to unlock ch6.
