The season server is a recent event in the life of BDO that is designed to make things easier for old and new players by providing events and rewards to its participants that greatly facilitate the leveling and gearing process. One such season usually lasts for a few months, during which time we have the opportunity to develop a new character to an already relevant level.
I think this is a very good opportunity for new players because it helps a lot to catch up with older players as it provides a lot more help than leveling a character during the off-event period. Anyway, anyone can create such a character, not specifically just new or returning players. For them, additional rewards are the attraction, and of course, to try new classes.
Every season in BDO shares a lot of common mechanics, which this guide will be focusing on, but also features unique items & seasonal activities, that you can read more about in the specific seasons below:

If you are a beginner and new to the world of Black Desert
This event offers you the best catch-up opportunity in terms of both level and equipment. If you haven’t made a seasonal character yet, do it because there’s no other option in this game that will give you such an advantage like this! It holds benefits and rewards for you that make it terribly worth doing, plus if you successfully “finish” the season, you’ll be richer in a gaming experience that will be very easy to build into later. In the end, of course, you can keep this character, and it will become a regular character, along with all the equipment you acquire.
You can create a seasonal character at the Create Character window after you choose your character and ticked the „Season Character” option. You can create only one season character per family (each season), however, you have the option to create a new one if you deleted the one you had previously created. As opposed to classic characters, season characters only take 3 minutes to delete.
Once you have created a Season Character, you will see a special mark in the character selection window which shows you that the character is a Season Character.
If you’ve ever changed your mind about what character you want to play with, simply use Fughar’s Timepiece, this item was created for this very reason. It can be obtained once per Family upon completing the [Season] Fughar’s Special Timepiece quest with a seasonal character that is Lv. 25 or higher.
This item transfers your season character status and Combat/Skill EXP into a level 25 or lower (!) character. As a result of the conversion, you will also receive 3 Tuvala Weapon Exchange Coupons in the inventory of the newly converted character. If you feel you can’t choose what class to play, check out our Class Guide.
Season Servers are focused on character growth, but Only Season Characters can enter the Season Servers. These servers provide
Forced PvP is not possible in the Season Servers. Season Arsha Server, a server that will allow players to use forced PvP, was created specifically for that.
The Season 1 (Novice only) server is exclusive for new adventurers. This means that only those adventurers can enter here, who have a total character level of 150 or below.
Fughar is a Season Server exclusive NPC who will be located next to the Stable Keepers in large towns including Velia. Most season-related quests are available from him, so you’ll encounter quite a few during your journey.
Fughar is easiest to find using the NPC locator: click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of your screen to bring up the “Nearby NPC” menu and type Fughar’s name into the finder.
Before we delve deeper into seasons, I’d like to make a clear, complete list for beginners where everyone can easily find way around the first seemingly complicated, season-related pool of items. The rest of my guide will cover each item in detail. All of the items here are an important part of the seasons, so don’t delete them in any way!

The essence of the Season Pass is that you have to complete various missions for which valuable rewards come. This is only available on season characters and can be accessed by clicking on the Season Pass icon in the upper right corner (in the picture below). This is a free feature available to everyone.
The Black Spirit Pass, on the other hand, is already paid, it can be obtained from the Pearl Shop (F3) above level 10, it is a premium version of the season pass with premium rewards. The rewards here are also in the Season Pass window, this is in the second column as shown in the image above.
In both cases, the rewards must be activated and taken out one after the other. However, it is not mandatory to complete the missions in order, the system will save them in case you can activate them in order later.
You can pocket several rewards during the event, which are:
You can obtain the [Season] Secret Book of the Misty Breeze from Fughar whenever you complete the main quests for Balenos, Serendia, Calpheon, Mediah, Valencia, Grána, and Drieghan.
Use the [Season] Secret Book of the Misty Breeze to get plenty of Skill EXP and grow your character by learning more powerful skills.
If you reach Lv. 10 with your season character, you will get a [Season] New Adventure Box as a Season Pass objective completion reward. You receive more items from Leveling Aid Boxes as you level up your character. These all contain items that will help you on your journey up to level 61. If you delete this item, the item is not obtainable in any other form.
You can accept season-exclusive quests from Fughar, one per Family.
Excluding accessories, if you equip 7 TRI (III) Tuvala gears, you will receive 7 Advice of Valks (+40), and if you equip 7 TET (IV) Tuvala gears, you will receive 7
Advice of Valks (+60).
During the event period, you can collect special items from the Black Spirit Pass and exchange them for various rewards. Although this item has changed each season, it is currently called [Season] Golden Barley.

Rift’s Echo is a new boss scroll recommended for parties of 5 and can only be summoned on Season servers. You can craft this scroll from
Rift’s Fragments x5, if you arranged them in a shape into a +. These fragments can be obtained by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamaslyvia, or Drieghan, or as a reward from Savage Rift. Rift Echo can be obtainable from doing weekly quests (which I explained below in the Quests section). If your team has successfully defeated the monsters summoned by the scroll, the obtainable items are Time-filled Black Stones, Tuvala Ore, Refined Magical Black Stones, and Tuvala Accessories.
[Season] Rift’s Petal can be obtained by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Dreighan, or O’dylitta. You can exchange them with Fughar.

15 of these items can each be obtained through the Season Pass and the Black Spirit Pass. These are the latest rewards of season passes, the [Season] Crow Merchants Guild Contribution Certificate I x15 is the Season Pass’s reward, while [Season] Crow Merchants Guild Contribution Certificate II x15 is the Black Spirit Pass’s (P2W pass).
Take these items to Fughar to start the daily quests, which reward you the following items:
An absolute innovation of the season is that Atoraxxion has also been made available from seasonal servers. Season Atoraxxion is recommended for Adventurers with TRI (III) or higher Tuvala gear.
Requirements:
If you complete Atoraxxion at least once (so you gain knowledge from the boss you defeated at the end), you can get a new reward at the Y window, which is Atoraxxion: Rift Chest x1, once per family.
If you are looking for help with Atoraxxion, I recommend the guide image in the official patch courtesy of PA, which you can access by clicking here.
Defeating the following monsters on the Season Server has a low chance to draw out Afuaru. You can already know this goblin from normal servers, who also came to seasonal servers to provide seasonal rewards for those who successfully catch him. It has useful drops including Tuvala Ore, Refined Magical Black Stones, and Frozen Tides Black Stone.
In the current season, special rewards are also given for leveling up your character, which can be received in the Challange Window (Y).

Leveling rewards are often combined with newly released characters’ challenges, you can always find them in our guide for the current season!
Special characters deserve special gear. Since Season characters cannot equip regular gear, you have to equip the character with Naru and Tuvala gear. Only the Asula jewelry set is an exception to this, as well as the main story quest’s reward items. Items that can be used are marked with a yellow Black Spirit mark. While seasonal characters have an advantage in many ways, they still lack one thing: their inability to ride T9 horses.
The Naru gear first introduced in the Autumn season was slightly weaker than Tuvala gear, but they can be obtained during your adventures from Balenos to Mediah. Naru gear can also be enhanced with Beginner Black Stones and allow you to reach higher enhancement levels more easily compared to enhancing Tuvala gear. Show Fughar a Naru gear enhanced up to PEN (V) level and he will upgrade it to a Tuvala gear of PRI (I) level (of the same gear part) for you.
You can obtain them from the main story quest, or by heating regular black stones to turn them into Beginner Black Stones.
You can exchange them for Naru Gear at Fughar:
Naru gear is much easier to enhance than Tuvala gear. You need to use Beginner Black Stones to enhance Naru gear, and you don’t even have to use failstacks for it. Naru armor and weapons can be enhanced up to PEN and accessories up to TRI.
Once you reach PEN Naru armor/weapons, you can exchange them for Tuvala PRI (I) gear in your Inventory (I). The requirement is a finished Mediah main questline or completed [Special Growth] Fughar’s Memorandum – Chapter 8 in the case of skipping main questlines.
Only Season Characters can use Tuvala gear, and to get Tuvala gear you will need Tuvala Ores. You can get Tuvala Ores by defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and Sycraia Underwater Ruins. When you have collected enough, you can take your Tuvala Ores to blacksmiths to exchange them for weapons, defense gear, or accessories. Blacksmiths NPCs can be found in most large towns.
Exchange Tuvala Ore x1 to one of the following:
Exchange Tuvala Ore x5 to one of the following:
Tuvala Accessories (from basic to PEN) can be Heated for Tuvala Ores through the Processing Widow(L) and select Heating.
If you need more help about enhancing, check out our Enhancing Guide.
Basically, Tuvala Gear pieces use Time-filled Black Stones to enhance. It is a slightly more difficult process than enhancing Naru Gear, but still much easier than enhancing the regular gear pieces. However, there are two more items that can be used for improvements, which are
Refined Magical Black Stone and
Frozen Tides Black Stone. The Refined Magical Black Stone used to perform guaranteed enhancement on Tuvala gear from PRI (I) to TRI (III). Stones required for PRI (I) gear: 10, for DUO (II) gear: 20, and for TRI(III) gear: 30. The Frozen Tides Black Stone guarantees a successful enhancement from TET to PEN in the case of Tuvala Gear enhancement (cannot use on accessories). This stone can be obtained through the Season Pass, but not in very large quantities, so use it wisely.
If the durability of the Tuvala gear goes down if your enhancement attempt fails, go see a blacksmith to recover the Max durability of your gear and try again.

It’s important to follow the main quest chains, because it is essential in many ways, for example, the Season Pass also gets to the last reward through these. I mentioned above that for every milestone you leave when you complete one of the territorial main questlines, you obtain the [Season] Secret Book of the Misty Breeze. This book is important because it contains plenty of Skill EXP which helps you to grow your character by learning more powerful skills. If you started this season as a new player, be sure to follow the main questlines, and ignore the following section that applies to Simplified Main Questline:
Skipping Main Quests
For the summer season, the developers listened to the prayers of the veteran players and we finally got the Simplified Main Questline. Its requirements are a previously completed Mediah main questline and a completed [Pet] Bareeds’ Junaid quest offered by the NPC Bareeds III. Adventurers who fulfill all the requirements and have completed the main questline up ‘till “The Sage of Velia” can accept the [Special Growth] Birth of a Prestigious Family quest from the NPC Alustin in Velia.
Pay close attention when you arrive in Velia with the main quests, because if you do not take this quest, you will automatically start the original questline and you can no longer start this simplified line. This chain of quests is time-saving and all rewards can be earned with it.
This quest gives you a Fughar’s Memorandum – Chapter 1, this is the first part, and then we finally come to the end through 11 chapters. Follow the instructions in the quests until you reach the last chapter. The last quest of the simplified questline, “[Season] Fughar’s Memorandum – Chapter 11,” will make the character have fulfilled the same prerequisites of a character who has completed the Mediah main questline and allow them to start the Valencia questline.

If you’ve changed your mind and still don’t want to choose this path, you have the option to forfeit the quest and return to the main quests, but only if you are at the very first quest ([Season] Birth of Prestigious Family) and you haven’t finished yet it. Once you have completed this quest, you would forfeit it in vain.
There are 22 recurring quests, which you can do. You can find these at the Quest Window (press O), and select the Recurring tab, and then choose the [Season Weekly] Stronger Tuvala Gear title. These give you valuable rewards, so I definitely recommend that you complete these quests.
Obtainable rewards:
And select 1 from the following goods:
Regional quests are very useful because they give you useful things, like stones and accessories. If you enter the monster area, the quest will be popped automatically. The goal is to kill a certain amount of monsters in each area. The quests rewards are only available for season characters, if you do it with your non-season character, it will give you only Combat EXP.

This is again an innovation, namely the seasonal exclusive Red Battlefield only for seasonal characters. Inside the RB, NPC Daz offers a quest called [Season Daily] Join the Red Battlefield!.
Rewards:
How to join: press ESC, select WAR, and then the Red Battlefield option. In the Red Battlefield Status Window, select a server with a special server with a seasonal mark. Only level 50 or higher seasonal characters can enter.
There is usually early graduation in each season, which by implication allows you to transform the seasonal character into a normal character, and collect the rewards sooner. Unconverted characters are automatically converted to normal characters at the end of the season but are not automatically deleted in any way. All that will probably be provided that the character does not possess a Fughar’s Timepiece item and the Season Pass is fully completed and collected.
At the end of the current season (or after successful early graduation), you will get many rewards for your participation. Here is the list of the rewards:
2020 Summer Season | 2020 Autumn Season | 2020 Winter Season | 2021 Summer Season | 2021 Winter Season |

Special Rewards can get by exchanging the “Season Special Gift Exchange Coupon” with Fughar. Adventurers who missed out on a previous season reward can select it and exchange for it this time around! However, the one you have previously acquired cannot be re-selected.
When you graduate, you can obtain a total of 13 Tuvala Conversion Stones which matches a full set of gear that allows you to convert the season-exclusive Tuvala gear to normal gear. Keep in mind that using the [Season] Tuvala Armor Conversion Stone will result in items that can no longer be enhanced.
You can use the [Season] Boss Gear Exchange Coupon you acquire during graduation on a converted Tuvala gear to exchange it for a Boss gear. Only one
[Season] Boss Gear Exchange Coupon is given per Family and since you can convert only one of your Tuvala gear parts into a Boss gear.

That was exactly what I was trying to confirm. Thanks so much!
Very welcome my friend. Have fun in the world of Black Desert Online!
I am interested in using the Timepiece to create a second character (a Shai, since I don’t want to have to level one). I intend to use my original season character as my “main” going forward, however, so I’m worried about whether the PEN Tuvula weapons I made won’t get converted and I’ll wind up with inferior weapons (I’ve already done the Narchillon conversion for another character, sadly). Will it automatically convert those weapons to the same type they were originally, or do I need to search for new weapons?
Hello friend,
You will be able to use your old tuvala gear except weapons. For the weapons, you will have to use “Tuvala weapon exchange coupons” which you get after graduation.
Just to make sure I’m explaining it correctly:
I currently have a PEN set of Corsair weapons. When I use the Timepiece, I will have to transfer all my armor and weapons to my Shai (obviously, I will be unable to use the Corsair weapons on the Shai). Once the season ends, will I receive a set of non-season Corsair weapons along with the conversion that happens for the armor pieces? I don’t really care about Shai weapons (I’m just going to use her for lifeskilling), I just want to know if the Corsair will still have her stuff after graduation, even if it’s not physically on that character during the graduation. (I plan to do this on Nov 29/30 to maximize my remaining Crow scrolls).
Thanks again! The system is very confusing and most guides I’ve seen have focused on going to a new main rather than wanting to keep the season character.
Well, if you don’t use the Tuvala weapon exchange coupons (and switch Corsair weapons to Shai) on the items, they will remain Corsair anyway, even if they’re not physically the character. And after graduation, you turn them into real weapons. I hope I could help.
Capotia PEN accessories could be obtained at the end of the season for those who did the event successfully. But what does that mean ? What are the criteria to do the event successfully ?
Only Season Pass ?
Do we need the Daily Fughar Quests?
Do i need to complete the Regional Quests ?
The performance criteria for the current season will appear later, probably at the same time as the early graduation. In the history of the seasons so far there were different criteria, in the last season, for example, only the fulfillment of the Season Pass was a condition (there was also an example of an AP / DP condition in older seasons, but most recently it has been abolished). Completing the daily Fughar quests and regional quests has never been, so I think that’s going to be the case this season. These are only useful in other ways, but not conditions.
I was wondering i seem to have gotten way less beginner blackstones from skipping the main quest as to doing it manually. so i can only get more by doing valencia or heating, but am i missing something. did the progression stuff from fulghar already.
We got a reedem code (2021-SEAS-ONIS-HERE) what cointains 1000 – 1000 beginner stones. [Entering a Redeem code: In-game press ESC, F11, 4] Edit: The coupon’s validity Period: June 30, 2021 (Wed) – July 14, 2021 (Wed) 23:59, and be sure to claim with a seasonal character, because the items are character bounded. In addition, you will find beginner stones in the Leveling Aid Boxes lvl 40 to 55.
Other season-related codes:
SUMM-ER20-21SE-ASON
HELL-OITS-ENDL-AIVE

I hope it helps.
Nice ?
Hello i wonder how to get the capotia PEN Accessoires?
Please tell me what to do how to get them quick?
Hey Sebastos,
Capotia PEN accessories could be obtained at the end of the season for those who did the event successfully. In the GM note announcing the start of the current summer season, it was written that “Adventurers who missed out on a previous season reward can select it and exchange for it this time around!”. So if you also meet the criteria for the season by Sept. 29, 2021, you will be able to choose from the PEN Capotias!
I left the game at the last season an hasn’t quite done my lvl 61, still at 60. Can i get the Belt anyway if i get 61 ?
Hey Enyora,
Unfortunately, since the season is over and the belt cannot be obtained retrospectively, you will not have the opportunity to do so.
But times are changing, it will be available again this season! 😀
jaja quit, then come back and want free items .. very WoW mentality ;D
Hahaha ? Good one Gorn Family, but to be fair BDO gives the most free items out of any MMO! ?
Hi there, i am a noob and started late beginning or march with my character. I still managed to ding 61 yesterday.
My question is, do we get some time to convert our gear after the season ended? I think i read that on the pearl website,
that we get 1 week after the season ended to turn in our stuff. IS this really true? Because the website also tells that
all gear which is not converted will get deleted after the season ended, it is kinda unclear.
Thanks for your guide anway!
Hey!
There’s nothing wrong with not being clear about the end of the season, it’s a big confusing set of information. 🙂 I looked after this question and found that: “For unconverted Tuvala gear that was obtained during Winter Season, they will be converted and returned to Adventurers during the March 31 maintenance following the criteria below.” Click here to read the full notice about this.
Thanks for your time looking for that info. It seems i am lucky and i will get all the gear autoconverted, all good
Two questions.
-If we don’t finish season pass before the end of the season, do we still get Graduation rewards?
– I’m toward the end of my Season Pass and I notice it says to defeat the World Bosses. But it also has “and use a (I forget the name. Has the word ‘Courage’ in it. I’m currently 59. If I merely participate in world bosses while I’m leveling, will it retro credit me after I’m 60 (Bc rewards for bosses come after the reward for 60) and what is the item it’s telling us to use after defeating them?
Thank you for your question.
– I think yes, you’ll get rewards at the end of the season without passing all the game pass parts.
– Yes, this item is the “Response to Precious Courage” that you received from the defeated World Bosses. This is a scroll that every normal boss drops (I think bloodstorm, nightmare and etc. doesn’t drop this), and it has 24 hours expiration date. You should use these scrolls to get these parts from the Season Pass. So after killing your previous world bosses, you will only get this if you have used these scrolls before.
Hi, thanks for the guide! I have a question I’m a complete noob and just started the game, I don’t think I have enough time to get the best gear currently got to 121 Ap and just unlocked awaken weapon, i started on season server, is it better to restart the game next season ? Because I still don’t know how to play it, and I a delete my season character and in next season I create a new one can my gear get transferred to a normal character? Or I have to create a complete new account ?
Hey Val!
Thank you, I hope you found my guide useful.
Yes, I think it will definitely be worth starting a new character next season, which will give you more time to get to a higher level with it. At the end of the current season, the seasonal characters will automatically changed to regular characters. You won’t be able to move your current gear for your new seasonal character, but it was definitely helpful to get this far with it, too, because the experience will be yours forever now, and then with this knowledge you can start the new season. You do not need to start a completely new account, as your current character will be a normal character, and you will be able to create a new seasonal character in the new season again.
Will i still be able to convert my character even if I was unable to finish the entire seasonal Pass
Yes! Although the requirement for early graduation is to earn the full pass reward, nonetheless, at the end of the season, all seasonal characters are automatically converted to normal characters.
Great guide, thanks a lot!
But… when do the current season ends and one will the new start?
Thank you, GipC91! 🙂
This season(Winter season) will end on 31st March 2021. There is no official information about the start of next season yet, we are just guessing. Maybe the beginning of April or May?
Hi, I only started playing in winter season , can I still get the pen capotes ring instead of the belt as reward for this season or pen both perhaps ?
Also do I need to do velencia 2 questions to get the secret book of misty breeze ? Should I save them to open during skill exp buff ? I keep getting conflicting info there.
Thank you for this guide , it was tremendously helpful
Dear Nik,
I’m glad you found my guide useful!
– When you finish the season, you can choose from the “big rewards”, so yes, you can choose the pen capotia ring instead of the pen belt, but only if you haven’t earned it in previous seasons, you can only exchange them once.
– The Valencia 2 questline is not absolutely necessary for the season, although you get a book if you do it, in my personal opinion this questline is very frustrating and it wouldn’t be worth it to me just because of the books.
– Books are not affected by skill EXP buffs
I accidentally created a seasonal character. Is there any way I can make it a Normal character, or do I have to delete it?
Dear David,
Unfortunately, there is no way to convert an existing character to normal or season one(of course the exception is the end-of-season graduation). You have to delete it and create a new one if you want to use it right now. But at the end of the season, it will be a normal character automatically.
Hey, as far as I know if you speak to Fughar (the NPC exchanging Tuvala ore for gear), you should see an option to convert this character to normal character.
Yes, but this is the graduation.
I didn’t get ine thing, at the end of season, the character disapper ? Or i can use it like a normal character ?
Dear Davide!
The character won’t be deleted, but if you will not convert your gear, it will disappear. On the other hand, you can’t even collect certain rewards for the season.
(If you don’t know how to convert your char: Visit Fughar, talk with him, and choose the dialogue about the character conversion. This leads you to a quest that will convert your season char and your gear into normal ones.)
can you graduate early in the season and then create another season character and use the season gear of your first character?
No, you can’t create another season character after one graduated in one season. You can only start a new season character within a season if you have not graduated with the first char. In this case, you delete the character, and you can move its items to the new seasonal char.
