The Online Mode of the game features Ranked Matches with public leaderboards, as well as Player Matches where you can also set custom rules (this mode is not included in the Steam version for PC, due to issues with the discontinued Games for Windows Live service).

Story
|
Each character offers a branching story mode with multiple paths and endings. By unlocking at least one ending for each of the 10 base characters, you will also unlock ν-13's and Haku-men's story episodes, for a total of 12 unique character branching stories. The story paths / endings depend on your choices and / or how you defeat certain opponents. Last but not least, the short "Teach Me! Miss Litchi" mode, aims to introduce some basic concepts of the BlazBlue universe.

Arcade
|
To beat the Arcade Mode, you need to face 10 CPU opponents, and each character will offer an extra short story in the form of short dialogues between certain battles, as well as a short illustrated ending. What's more, it will award you with the Unlimited version of the character used, as well as all of the character's Gallery illustrations for Arcade Mode.

Score Attack
|
This is the hardest mode in the game, since you are not allowed to use any continues or change the game difficulty, and you have to beat 12 predetermined CPU opponents.

Versus
|
You can fight with another player offline, or against the CPU, and determine the total rounds, and round time in the Game Options.
|
|
Training
|
You can play around with any Health, Gauge and character-specific special settings, choose how your opponent reacts for any occasion, as well as record and playback the moves you want your opponent to use.

|
Gallery
|
You can play back any Background Music, Character Voice, Sound Effect etc. of the game, and also unlock various artworks, illustrations and cutscenes by completing various tasks.

Game Options
|
All the keybindings are fully-configurable no matter what type of controller you are using. You can decide the difficulty, rounds and round time for Story, Arcade & Versus Modes, as well as choose between Japanese or English voiceovers that apply to the whole game. You can also check your top 10 high-scores in Arcade & Score Attack Modes through the Leaderboards section. The game's native resolution is 1280x768, and it allows up to 7680x4320, but unfortunately any resolution that's above the native, will look blurry and degraded.
