Dead or Alive 6 brings back many favorite characters, and also introduces a wealth of new additions to its roster. It's not easy to overlook the graphical fidelity of all the character models - Dead or Alive was known for its amazing visuals, even back in the original Xbox - the only comparison I can make is with Mortal Kombat 11 characters, where the detail is similarly apparent.

All the animations and moves feel better than ever, making DOA6 a truly competitive fighting game. I would be very happy to see Koei Temco focusing more resources into the competitive DOA scene, than releasing endless amounts of cosmetic DLCs - that cost more than 2,000$ to get hold of.
Even though Dead or Alive was the fighting game that I grew up with (not a TEKKEN kid sorry?), after seeing its retail price, and the ridiculous DLC amount, I was extremely reluctant to even try the "Free Core Fighters" version of the game. To my biggest surprise, this is actually an amazing business model!
You can play through hundreds of quests, and many game modes, totally free! You can simply buy a couple of characters that you love the most, and that's it! I don't even have to since Kasumi is one of the free fighters. ?
- The "Core Fighters" version of DOA 6 (the free version) includes 4 characters: Bass, Diego, Hitomi & Kasumi.
- The full version of the game, includes all characters, except 6, that you have to buy separately: Kula Diamond, Mai Shiranui, Momiji, Nyotengu, Rachel & Tamaki.
