Construction is one of the most useful skills in Old School Runescape, and it is one of the P2P Skills which means you will need a BOND (membership) to unlock it. It allows you to build your own house, including furniture and decorative items. In addition to these, you can build your own portals, that will make teleport much easier. There are tons of other useful things can be built inside your house such as the Ornate Rejuvenation Pool which restores all your stats by 1 click. Also, building your own altar will significantly help you to train your Prayer much faster.

Training this skill cannot be done while being AFK at all. It is a click-intensive process and requires more than one activity to complete the training circle. It also requires tons of OSRS Gold to be trained through the fastest possible method. Of course, you can use the other cheaper methods, but they are much slower which is painful.

In this guide, we will be introducing the fastest and most efficient methods to achieve the maximum Construction level. Follow this guide only if you have a huge budget and you are willing to spend it in order to max your Construction skill in a short time.

Make sure to check out all 23 OSRS skills in our relevant guide.

Things required to start training

First of all, you need to to buy your own house, for a price of for 1,000 Gold coins through the Estate Agent in Varrock. The location of the house is completely your choice and you can always move elsewhere at any time.

The first few Construction levels are pretty easy to achieve and won’t take a long time. But the higher levels will become more difficult in terms of EXP/Hr since you will have to move constantly between your house and your bank to get more Planks. That’s why you should start using Servants once you reach level 30 or 40.

Using Servants is allowed at level 20 Construction, but it’s not of a great benefit compared to using it later, on level 30 or 40. You can get Servants from the Servant House in East Ardougne.

You are allowed to use one Servant in your house, based on your Construction level. There are 5 different Servants, each has a different travel speed and capacity in addition to a required level in Construction. The highest Servant requires level 50 and has the best quality among all the Servants. You can only hire one Servant if your house has 2 bedrooms (including beds).

After hiring a Servant, you will be able to use him directly from your own house and he will help you to bring Planks from the bank right back to you which will increase the EXP/Hr ratio. This can be done 8 times and if more service is needed, you will have to pay the Servant again. You can always fire your Servant to hire another one any time.

A new house won’t contain any rooms at all, besides the main room. Building rooms is essential to build any portals, furniture or anything else needed inside your house. Each room has various furniture that can be built, based on your Construction level. Also, the rooms themselves require a specific amount of Gold coins in addition to a certain Construction level.

To start building, switch to the Building mode through the “House Options”.

Level 1-4

The fastest way to level 4 Construction is by building Crude Wooden Chairs which are available in the Parlour room. Two Planks and Two Nails are needed for each chair (it’s better to buy high-quality Nails because low-quality Nails tend to bent more often).

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 10

Nails needed: 20+ (based on what type of Nails you use)

You will gain 58 Construction EXP for each Crude Wooden Chair that was built successfully.

Level 4-9

Reaching level 9 Construction can be easily done by building Wooden Bookcases. These can be built inside the Parlour room and each one of them requires 4 Planks and 4 Nails.

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 28

Nails needed: 50+ (based on what type of Nails you use)

You will gain 115 Construction EXP for every Wooden Bookcase that was built successfully and the EXP/Hr ratio is totally based on how fast you are.

Level 9-22

To get yourself from level 9 to 22 you will have to start building Wooden Larders. These can be built inside the Kitchen and each one of them requires 8 Planks and 8 Nails.

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 168

Nails needed: 200+ (based on what type of Nails you use)

You will gain 228 Construction EXP for each Wooden Larder that was built successfully and it’s the fastest possible way to reach level 22.

Level 22-33

The quickest method to reach level 33 Construction is by building Oak Tables (Oak Dining Tables). These Tables can be built inside the Dining Room only. These tables require no Nails at all, but only 4 Oak Planks for each Table to be built.

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 216 Oak Planks

Nails needed: 0

You will gain 240 Construction EXP for each Oak Dining Table. Note that you won’t need regular planks or Nails if you are following this guide correctly.

You don’t have to build Carved Oak Tables from level 31 to 33 in my opinion, just focus on 1 thing until level 33.

Level 33-52

The fastest way to level 52 Construction is by building Oak Larders. These can be built in the Kitchen and each one requires 8 Oak Planks only.

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 1,760 Oak Planks

Nails needed: 0

480 Construction EXP is gained once you build 1 Oak Larder successfully.

Level 52-99

Once you reach level 52 you will just need to start building Mahogany Tables all the way until level 99 Construction. The Mahogany Tables can be built inside the Dining Room and you will need 6 Mahogany Planks for each Table.

Items needed: Saw & Hammer

Planks needed: 92,220 Mahogany Planks

Nails needed: 0

You will gain 840 Construction EXP for each Mahogany Table you successfully build. This is the fastest possible way to max the Construction skill, but it is extremely expensive since you will have to up to 200M Gold Coins to buy the required Mahogany Planks.

Overall

Training your Construction skill is going to be annoying and expensive, I mean, really expensive, but doing it correctly by following this guide, you will reach level 99 Construction in a very short time compared to the other training methods in the game. So spend your Gold coins and enjoy the power of the maxed house and its features!
