The Master Sword is one of the key weapons in BOTW, with a base attack of 30 that can double up to 60 when exposed to Guardians and Calamity Ganon minions the weapon will help a lot when visiting Hyrule Castle at the end of the game, unlike other weapons the Master Sword runs out of energy instead of breaking which gives it an infinite use.

As mentioned above since this legendary sword helps a lot against Calamity Ganon and his soldiers, we are here to offer you a complete guide on how to get the Master Sword step by step and with images, so stick with us as we show you how to get the legendary sword.

Table of Contents

The Lost Woods Part 1

Our first station is the entry of the Lost Woods directly north of Hyrule field, the Lost Woods is a maze-like wood covered in fog, so trying to get in while gliding or just walking in casually will not get you anywhere. The only way of traversing the woods is on foot meeting certain requirements. Upon arriving at the entry as shown in the pictures you’ll find a torch at the door of the Woods. By following the torches scattered across the woods you will not get lost, just keep in mind that if you lose your way if the forest you will get respawned to the entry over and over again.

The Lost Woods Part 2

After following the lead of the torches you’ll find yourself at the second part of the Woods, here things will get tricky. Upon arriving at the second checkpoint you’ll find two big torches with a small torch at the side, get the small torches and light it with the fire in front of you. Now you must stay still and observe the direction of the amber coming out of the lighted torch.

This method is a bit tricky and needs a little bit of patience. So you are going to carefully move while stopping after a few steps and observing the direction of the amber, if you take the wrong path the fog will uncover you respawning you in front of the two torches. Following the ember coming from the torch will eventually get you to the entry of the Korok Forest. The entry of the Korok Forest is marked by a big hollow Tree trunk.

Korok Forest and the Master Sword

Just a little bit ahead in the Korok Forest you’re gonna observe a big Rock stand where the sword is located, now I don’t want you to be so excited and pull the sword directly since they are some conditions to meet. Pulling up the sword requires a certain amount of hearts, 13 hearts to be exact, trying to pull up the sword without meeting the requirement will cost you your life, so be careful.

If you are meeting the requirements the sword will come out at ease and voila, congratulation the sword is now yours, as I said above the sword cannot be broken but it can run out of energy and will need time to charge, also you can not throw it as the throw button will launch a slashing beam from the sword. Additionally, you can pass the Master Sword trial if you have purchased the DLC, while the trial might be challenging the prize is big as you can use the sword at full power and with no cooldowns.
