The new battery ability is a necessary item in Tears of the Kingdom; it allows you to operate machines you’ve made for a longer period of time, as well as employ fused weapons with capsule devices for a longer period of time. What are Zonaites?

Zonaites are a type of mysterious ores that can be found early on in the game on the main sky island caves and later on in the depth of Hyrule. Zonaite can be exchanged for various key items, including battery upgrades, Zonai charges, and many more.

How to Get Zonaites?

If you’re still early on your game you can farm some Znaite out of the forge construct, there are caves nearby where you can mine some decent quantity. If you’re far enough on the game the best way to get these ores are the depth, you need to pack up some food and weapons and head there for an extended mining session.

How to process Zonaite?

Zonaites can be processed by visiting a forge construct, you can find one easily on the main sky island by following the metal rails all the way to the underground cave. Upon visiting you can exchange Zonaites for both Crystallized Charges and Zonai Charges.

How does the Forge Construct Restock?

In order for the forge to restock with new merchandise, you need to teleport back to the Lookout Landing and sleep on the bed for a full day. After that, you can go back and you will find the merchandise good and ready.

What are Crystallized Charges?

Crystallized Charges are essential if you want to permanently upgrade your batteries, for each of 100 Crystallized Charges you can upgrade your battery by the third.

How to Upgrade Your Battery?

If you have more than 100 Crystallized Charges at your disposal you can visit Nachoya Shrine at the starting sky island, once you’re teleported you will notice a Steward Constrct standing on the middle talk to him, and choose to Get producing! In order to upgrade your battery.

How to Temporarily Upgrade Your Battery?

Zonai Charges

Zonai charges can be found around sky island either on chests or by defeating various machinery monsters like the Flux Construct. Using Zonai charges can restore your drained batteries and add more temporary juice if you want to use a machine or a device for a long time.

Large Zonai Charges

Large Zonai Charges can be also found on chests and shrines, and they can also be bought from an expanded Forge in exchange for Zonaite. These charges block the use of your current battery for a short time period, allowing you to use various Zonai machines without losing any juice.
