The Frox is a frog-like mini-boss on Tears of The Kingdom, it can be found deep down on the underground level of Hyrule. Killing this monster can reward you with several strong fusion materials and a bunch of Large Crystilized Charges. In this guide, we’re going to offer you a simple tutorial on how to defeat The Frox using common knowledge and minimal tools.

Stunning the Frox

Stunning the Frox can be easily done by shooting his eye, once successful the Frox will succumb in pain allowing you to take your next step. If you’re short on arrows like I was, you can also throw dazzle fruits at the monster which will stun it instantly.

Close Ranged Attacks

Similar to the Stone Talus once the Frox is stunned you can rush in and start breaking the ores on his back, unlike the Stone Talus you need to break several of these ores in order to defeat the monster, so it’s all up to you on where to start and finish.

You can make him swallow items

During his rage the Frox will open its mouth trying to suction everything in front of him, you can take the opportunity to feed him some of your items. For example, I had some bomb capsules on hand that were rather successful in shocking him. Simply shoot bomb arrows into its open mouth; he’ll try to swallow it, resulting in an explosion within his belly; now stunned, you may climb in and finish him out as usual.

Bouncing off his back

After you’ve struck him in the eye the first time, you might try another effective technique. While he’s still stunned, you can climb up his back and start breaking one of his ores. after a while on his back, he’ll send you flying up high, giving you the chance to take another slow-motion shot at his ore or right in the eye to knock him out again.

Rewards

The reward is very generous compared to how easy the fight might be, so you’re going to get a bunch of fusion materials, monster parts to cook elixirs, and a Large Crystalized Charge that can help you later with upgrading your battery.
