Franchise The Legend of Zeldaâ„¢ |
The Hinox returns in Tears of the Kingdom with a fresh appearance but the same habits. For those unfamiliar with the Legend of Zelda’s open-world realm, the Hinox is a massive one-eyed monster that may be found sleeping in the woods. When you approach these terrifying monsters, they will become enraged and attack you with a combination of melee and ranged weapons.
However, defeating these ugly monsters can be very rewarding in this new sequel offering a bunch of base weapons and some good fusion materials. Today, we’re going to give you a quick primer on how to deal with these monsters without breaking a sweat.
This way is pretty basic all you need to get is a bunch of arrows and a good melee weapon. You can approach the Hinox while crouching and give him a taste of your sword, or you can just start off by waking him up. Once he’s up all you need to do is keep your distance and aim for the eye, hitting the Hinox eye will get him stunned and that’s when you can rush toward its legs and chop it off. Be careful, as it will recover step back and do it over and over until its HP reaches Zero.
Although the Recall feature is not very effective it’s quite fun to experiment with this ability, taking a far distance from the Hinox will make him throw rocks and tree trunks at you. You can avoid the tree trunks and use recall on the rocks, using the recall ability will return the rock right at the monster taking some of its precious HP.
Tears of the Kingdom, as you all know, introduces a new technique to combine arrows with mushrooms, monster parts, and even Chuchu jellies. As you can see in the screenshot, I’m utilizing a Keese Eyeball to make my arrow behave as a homing arrow, allowing me to shoot without even aiming and strike the eyeball 100% of the time. You can also experiment with many different components, and observe the result.
Although the fight with a normal Hinox is not that hard, the reward is very generous as you can see here I got Hinox Horn with 12 on the fuse attack power, some Hinox tooths and two weapons to make strong fusion weapons.Â
