Although the Master Sword has the same stats as those in Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom offers the option to fuse items with it, giving it a significant boost and increasing its durability. In contrast to the previous game, this time you need stamina to pull the sword off a dragon’s head, oh yeah! The player requires two wheels of stamina to successfully grab the sword out of the dragon’s skull. In today’s article, we’ll show you how to earn the master sword quickly and effortlessly!
Our first destination will be the minish wood chasm, so make sure to grab some food and a bunch of Brightbloom Seeds. Once you reach the chasm jump down to visit the depth, our goal here is to reach the Rikonasum Lightroot northwest of the Minish Wood Chasm.
Use the Brightbloom Seeds to light the path and continue until you reach the lightroot. Once there, light it up, and you’ll see a large monument on your back. This monument is the only route to access the Korok Forest. To reach the forest, stand beneath the large boulder and use ascend.
The Korok Forest will be tarnished by the gloom so our goal is to cleanse the forest out of it. Once you’re up you’re going to notice an entry under the big tree. Reach for the entrance and keep going until you find a big hole like the chasm. This big hole will lead you to Korok Groove, from here you need to beat down the Gloom Hand, and Phantom Ganon.Â
The Gloom Hands might be difficult to destroy, but all you need to do is stay your distance and use throwing items, such as Bomb Flowers and Shock Fruit. Arrows are also quite effective if you move quickly enough. After defeating the Gloom Hand, Phantom Ganon will appear; if you’ve already battled Phantom Ganon at Hyrule Castle, you’re fine to go; if not, check out our tutorial here.
Defeating both monsters will clean the gloom out of the Korok Forest allowing you to get back up and talk to Deku Tree. After a short discussion and a flashback cutscene, Deku Tree will mark down the location of the Master Sword precisely. Now all we need to do is track down the dragon and make a jump on his forehead.
PS: Keep in mind that this quest is optional, but it may save you a lot of time; you can still find the dragon without a guide, but with the Deku Tree indicating it, you’ll never miss it.
Alright after knowing the Master Sword location, there is one last thing to be sure of. In order to successfully take out the sword you need two full stamina circles.
Now that we are ready we can teleport to any nearby sky island and jump from there on the dragon’s head. Use your glider to make a perfect landing on the dragon’s forces head and push the A button to retrieve the sword, the dragon will drag you into the sky trying to push you off, all you need to do is hold the A button until the dragon calm down, after a short cutscene the mighty Master Sword is all yours!
