There are many players out there who may be unaware of just how useful the Fire Mage is in TBC. When it comes to PvE, the Fire Mage really begins to thrive with the right setup. But what is that setup, you ask? The amount of WoW TBC gold you have isn’t the concern just yet, as we need to have the right talents and such in place to make the most of the class.

The following guide will take a look at what setup you need if you’re to deal the damage that the Fire Mage is capable of. If you want to take a break from The Burning Crusade power leveling or grinding for TBC Classic gold to learn more about this class, then read on.

Fire Mage – The Pros and Cons

What draws players to the Fire Mage is how consistent it is when damaging opponents. It’s also a good choice for PvP, and the utility options that are available to you will make all the difference. If you’re interested in making more WoW TBC gold, then this build is great for AoE gold farming.

That said, it doesn’t retain the role of the highest damage class anymore. The Warlock has since assumed this title, with Hunters coming in at a close second. The specs that you use will need to be on point too, otherwise, you’ll find that Mages are rather squishy in certain instances. Their reliance on utility support during raids doesn’t help either.

Best Races to Use

The best race to pair with the Fire Mage will depend on the faction that you’re siding with. Whether you play as Alliance or Horde is going to determine the race you go with of course, but there are some that are better than others.

Alliance Races

  • Gnome
  • Draenei

Horde Races

  • Troll

For Alliance players, you have a couple of great choices. The Gnome has abilities that can help to increase your Intellect by 5%. The Escape Artist’s ability can get you out of dire situations where your movement has been slowed, or you’ve been immobilized. Then you have the racial passives of the Draenei, with Heroic Presence which can increase the chance of you and your party landing a hit by 1% if they are within 30 yards.

As for the Horde, they are pretty limited to the Troll for maximum Fire Mage impact. They can increase their casting and attack speed thanks to Berserking. The Troll also has increased damage against Beasts when using Beast Slaying, and Regeneration will bump up your health regen by 10%.

Professions

The professions that you choose are going to make a huge difference. Not just for saving you from having to buy TBC gold, but to get you the gear that you need to. The best professions are as follows:

  • Tailoring
  • Leatherworking
  • Enchanting

Tailoring and Leatherworking do go hand in hand for some instances, since you may need one for the other to get certain materials. That said, the latter is mainly used for drums if you’re planning on going raiding. Tailoring meanwhile will grant you access to both Spellfire and Spellstrike sets. Both of these are essential for Fire Mages in TBC.

Enchanting’s ability known as Enchant Ring – Spellpower has become a must-have in TBC. You now need the Enchanting skill if you are going to wear enchanted rings. The +12 increase in spell power is a definite attraction to those looking to add a profession to their Fire Mage experience.

Achieving your goals with the Fire Mage is going to take some savvy decision-making on your part. Whether you’re blitzing through TBC power leveling, or even contemplating forking out to buy WoW TBC accounts, having your character set up the right way is vital. There are some TBC items that you need to be keeping an eye out for too, such as the Flask of Pure Death and plenty of food plus potions.

The race that you choose is pretty important. Be sure to go with the Troll if you’re siding with the Horde. The sheer class of Berserking puts it above and beyond any other choice. The Alliance players out there should stick with Gnomes, based on Escape Artist alone. These are pivotal decisions for you to make, especially if you’re to get the very best out of the Fire Mage. Professions are a big bonus too, besides from being able to make additional TBC Classic gold from them.
