Today, we are doing an article about All Assassin’s Creed Games Ever Released. This list will contain only the main games in the series. Meaning it won’t include other irrelevant mobile and browser games.

Assassin’s Creed franchise has been running for a decade now. And with the recent release of AC: Valhalla, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to have any intentions of stopping anytime soon. The first Assassin’s Creed was meant to be a spin-off of another Ubisoft classic, Prince of Persia.

However, since the latter played differently than Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft decided to make it into a franchise. And here we are with a franchise that consists of eleven main games, and seventeen spin-off games. It is quite difficult to hunt down every Assassin’s Creed game ever released. Thus, thanks to an article like the one below you, you will have no issues discovering every game on the franchise.

Assassin's Creed® Valhalla
(2020 Original Release)
Assassin's Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarök
(2022 Expansion)

The latest entry in the AC series on last-gen and current-gen, as well as, PC. This particular follows the same gameplay formula of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. All of these recent entries broke free of the traditional gameplay that was in previous AC entries by incorporating Role-playing elements. While a lot of people are fine with this new addition, many on the other hand are not.

This particular entry tells a fictional story during the invasion of Britain by the Vikings in 873 AD. On the one hand, the game puts you in the role of Eivor, a brave Viking warrior who becomes involved in the severe chaotic conflict between the Templar Order and the brotherhood of assassins.

The latter plays like any other role-playing video game. Of course, while the game feels completely different from the Ezio trilogy, it manages to capture the overall formula of its predecessors. Newcomers are not going to find any difficulties getting into this one. On the contrary, old fans of the series will encounter some difficulties.

The eleventh main instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series also incorporates role-playing elements that take inspiration from other games in the genre. Examples of such games are The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Witcher 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild.

The aforementioned recounts a mythological history set during the Peloponnesian War which is between the city-states of ancient Greece. Bear in mind that the events of Odyssey predate Origins by four hundred years. Contrary to previous titles, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey introduces two main characters: Alexios and Kassandra. Both of these characters will follow certain events that will determine their fate.

The gameplay is similar to The Witcher 3, Dragon Age, Monster Hunter: World, and other games from the genre. However, that doesn’t mean the game doesn’t capture the overall feeling of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. If you have played Origins, you’ll notice that both of these share several similarities.

The sequel to the original game paved the way for the series to become what it is. Also, the game is considered the second main game in the series. The third game is Brotherhood in case if you’re wondering. A remastered version is available on Xbox One and PS4, but it’s not recommended.

The sequel is the first game that introduced Ezio Auditore da Firenze to the scene. Players navigate throughout Italy while controlling Ezio who soon turns into an assassin after his family was betrayed. Players also control Desmond Miles who strives to thwart Abstero and the modern-day Templars.

Assassin’s Creed II plays similarly to its predecessor and can be considered a mere sandbox title. However, the sequel improved the gameplay to a degree making it play better than the prequel. However, Brotherhood does it better. Additionally, the world is much bigger than the prequel with high buildings to climb and several secrets to uncover.

Assassin’s Creed II has also received something similar to Altair’s Chronicles. The aforementioned is a side-scroller game similar to the likes of Prince of Persia and God of War: Betrayal.

Bear in mind that both the iOS and Nintendo DS versions have different storylines. Players assume the role of our assassin, Ezio Auditore exploring Italy while accomplishing levels and certain goals.

Gameplay-wise when playing on the Nintendo DS, the game takes advantage of the touch-screen for mini-games. For example, pickpocketing and interrogation, as well as, displaying a map during regular gameplay sequences. Compared to Altair’s Chronicles, combat has drastically improved to feel more seamless and enjoyable.

Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines is the direct sequel to the original game which is available only on PSP. Unfortunately, the gameplay may turn a lot of players off as it’s nothing like the original. The controls are slow, and the game can become repetitive over time.

The game depicts the adventure of the first assassin, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad to the island of Cyprus. Upon landing there, he will learn more about the Templar’s intentions and their upcoming plans. His task is to thwart them all.

Unfortunately, the game doesn’t allow you to play using Desmond Miles. However, The HUD, the interface, and the overall design are still based on the Animus system.

So is this where Ubisoft started to milk the franchise? I guess so. Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles is a prequel to the original title that seems to be focusing on Altair once more. There are two versions of this game, one for mobile devices, and one for the Nintendo DS. Both are different in their own way.

Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles focuses on the assassin’s journey to retrieve the Chalice, an artefact said to have the power to unite all groups and end the Third Crusade. Victory shall be with the one who possesses it. However, unfortunately, the Chalice item is too powerful to be controlled by a human being. Instead, it must be found and destroyed.

Gameplay-wise when playing on the Nintendo DS, the game takes advantage of the touch-screen for mini-games. For example, pickpocketing and interrogation, as well as, displaying a map during regular gameplay sequences. Personally, the game plays like the 2D Prince of Persia games.

Assassin’s Creed is the first main instalment that started the series. Originally, the game was meant to be a spin-off/spiritual successor to Ubisoft’s classic, Prince of Persia until the developers turned the idea into its own franchise.

The game opens by explaining the use of a machine usually called ” Animus “. This special machine allows the user to view the genetic memories of his/her ancestors. Shortly after, the game introduces Desmond Miles who uses this machine to access certain genetic memories. Afterwards, Desmond relives the memories of one of his ancestors, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad who previously lived in the Holy Land during the Third Crusade events. The more Desmond digs further, the more he finds out about several events that shaped history.

In Assassin’s Creed, you can explore your surroundings, perform stealth kills, accomplish missions, and pretty much anything you could imagine from a sandbox title.

The aforementioned was a critical, and commercial success winning several awards and nominations that attracted enough limelight to warrant a sequel.

This is the end of All Assassin’s Creed Games Ever Released. Thank you for reading.
