The King of Fighters ’99 is the 6th game of the franchise, and the first one to break so much from the norm. Introducing the Nests Chronicle story arc, bumping teams from 3 to 4 characters, and adding the Striker Match & Counter Mode, there’s definitely a lot of new stuff to explore, and it’s arguable a good marketing move after releasing the Dream Match KOF ’98 game.

Quite a few new characters were introduced, but there’s also a lot of loved ones missing! Most notably, the KOF stars Kyo Kusanagi & Iori Yagami are only available in the Arcade Mode as hidden characters.
