The Boulder Breaker is one of several legendary weapons that may be manufactured or found across Hyrule. It was once wielded by the Goron Champion Daruk and his innumerable ancestors. The boulder breaker has a high base attack, making it one of the best two-handed weapons available in Tears of the Kingdom. However, unlike many other equipment, this weapon must be produced from the ground up by gathering multiple items including Flints, Diamonds, and a weapon.

Table of Contents

Soul of the Gorons Quest

Requirements

In order to start the crafting mission you need first to complete the main quest on Goron’s land including the Fire Temple. If you have already done that you can go ahead and visit the marked spot on the map, once you’re there you’re going to notice an old Blacksmith and his young apprentice. Talk to the apprentice to trigger the Soul of the Gorons side quest, the apprentice will ask you to bring him a Cobble Crusher, Five pieces of Flint, and three diamonds in order to start the crafting process.

Cobble Crusher Location

The Cubble Crusher is easily found by farming Like Likes around the Goron area; when defeated, these huge cave worms will always release a treasure chest. Opening these chests has a high probability of yielding the Cobble Crusher, but here’s a secret: you may always save before confronting the Cave Worm so you can load your save file and try again if the chest doesn’t contain a Cobble Crusher.

How to Get Diamonds?

There are several ways to farm diamonds across Hyrule; for example, you can begin mining at Goron caves or throughout all of Hyrule’s caves. You can also try your luck with Taluses, as there is a good possibility they will drop a diamond after beating them, or simply buy some in Goron City like I just did, if you’re short on Rupees you can check our guide here on how to farm Rupees.

How to Get Flints?

Flints are the easiest items to acquire out of all three items required, you can simply visit any cave in Hyrule and smash the small black rocks you come across. The Flints may be used to make the Boulder Breaker, as well as the two other legendary weapons found in Gerudo and Zora’s Domain.

Crafting the Boulder Breaker

Now that you have all the items required for the construction of the weapon, you can head back to the blacksmith and talk to the young apprentice. The young apprentice will take your items and start the process right away, now you can use the Boulder Breaker and fuse it with other powerful items to make the ideal two-handed weapon.

PS: If you break the Boulder Breaker you can always return to the Blacksmith to make another one using the same ingredients.
