Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Royal Guard Armor Set

The Royal Guard Armor set is one of much new armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom, while the armor doesn’t offer much in terms of special effects. It still offers an alternative easy way to get a decent armor with mild defense stat and an amazing look.

The armor set consists of three parts: the Royal Guard Cap, the Royal Guard Uniform, and the Royal Guard Boots. All of these components can be located only around Hyrule Castle; in today’s tutorial, we’ll go through each piece’s location and how to safely get there.

How to Get the Royal Guard Cap?

Our first destination to get the Royal Guard Cap is the small tower south of Hyrule Castle. All you need to do is to head to Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and fly from there all the way up to Hyrule Castle, once there head to the left until you see a small tower with a walkway on its side.

Land on the walkway and head right inside the tower, once more time glide your way down to the bottom of the tower and look for a small treasure chest, open it to get the first piece of the Royal Guard Armor Set.

How to Get the Royal Guard Uniform?

The Royal Guard Uniform is located just outside of the main Hyrule Castle, near the First Gatehouse, you’re going to find a small gate that will lead you to treasure. Once you’re in use the ultra hand to lift the first gate keep lifting it for a while and let it down, now use Recall to make the gate open up one more time.

Do the same thing to the second gate and keep going to the left, walk on the stairs, and to the left one more time. Keep walking until you see an entry to your left. Walk down the stairs until you reach the Guards Chamber.

The treasure chest will be sitting right over the gloom, so all you need to do is walk over the gloom as fast as you can and use Ascend to get up on the platform that holds the chest.

How to Get the Royal Guard Boots?

To get to the Royal Guard boots we need to teleport to the shrine on Hyrule Castle, if you’re still early on in the game you can still follow the map location to get to the shrine. Once you’re there glide down the shrine to find a gate that will lead you down to the Library.

All you need to do is keep going down following the stairs until you reach the library. Just beneath the stairs, you’re going to notice a giant shelf full of books, use the Ultra Hand to move one of the shelves and reveal a secret room, get in, and claim the last piece of the Royal Guard Armor Set.
