The gloom effect is one of the newest mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom, upon visiting the chasm Link can be affected by the gloom scattered over the world, or by the monsters that live deep in the chasm. The Gloom can lock the hearts on your health bar preventing you from healing the affected hearts normally.
The Gloom can be cured in many ways including; special food, outdoor sun, and Lightroots. Today’s guide will offer you a humble guide on how to cure the Gloom effect using multiple simple ways.
Sundelions may be cooked to make food that cures Gloom; simply go to the sky island and collect some Sundelions. This priceless plant can be cooked alone to cure the gloom or mixed with other foods to produce a combination of both health and gloom healing properties.
The gloom effect can be simply cured by teleporting back to the upper land (during the day), once there, your impacted hearts will return to normal, allowing you to heal properly.
If you’re heading into the chasm, these massive glowing roots may be easily recognized from afar, allowing you to approach there and cure your gloom. Just keep in mind that you must activate the Lightroots the first time you visit; after that, you can quickly open your map and teleport to any activated Lightroot that you have already visited.
Cooking Gloom-resistant food is also quite useful, especially if you’re going to battle hordes of gloom-affected monsters. In order to cook anti gloom food we need Dark Clumps, this mysterious cooking item can be acquired by defeating gloom hands and Phantom Ganon on the surface.
All you need to do after that is mix it with your standard cooking material, meat, apples, mushrooms, you name it. Just keep in mind that adding more Dark Clumps to the recipe will create more powerful Gloom-resistant and vice versa. Using this powerful food will make you vulnerable to a certain level of gloom attacks for a decent period of time.
