The Forest Dweller’s weapons return to Tears of the Kingdom holding the same authentic look but with a totally different effect and use. Koroks created the forest Dweller’s gear to assist them in dealing with the dangers of the deep forest.

Fusing bursting items into any Forest Dweller’s weapons offers infinite use compared to other weapons, which makes these weapons a must-have for any situation. These weapons can only be found in Korok Forest, particularly near the big Deku Tree.

Today’s tutorial shows you where to find each weapon, including the Forest Dweller’s Sword, Forest Dweller’s Spear, Forest Dweller’s Shield, and Forest Dweller’s Bow.

Table of Contents

Korok Forest

Since these weapons are exclusively made by Koroks, our first destination will be Korok Forest. If you’re still very early in the game you might find a hard time getting inside the forest. So you must head back to the depth and try to Ascend your way up to the forest from the depth. Visiting the forest for the first time you’ll find that it was tarnished by the gloom, your goal is to cleanse the gloom of the forest by defeating the gloom hands under the Great Deku Tree. For more information, you can check our guide here.

Walton’s Treasure Hunt Quest

Starting the Quest

If you have already cleared the forest, you can enter the Great Deku Tree. From there, use Ascend in the center of the tree to find a secret room inside the Big Deku Tree. Ignore it and continue ascending to the summit of the tree. At the top, you’ll encounter an NPC named Walton; speak with him to start the Treasure Hunt Side Quest. Initially, Walton will instruct you to hunt for the Forest Dweller’s Sword and Spear, which are hidden at the top of the tree.

Forest Dweller’s Sword Location

The Sword is located right over the big tree trunk behind Walton, all you need to do is climb your way over the big chunk of wood and claim it.

Forest Dweller’s Spear Location

The Spear is also located around Dwalton, it’s exactly hidden on the right side of Walton’s location between two big roots.

Talk Back to Walton

After finding the Sword and the Spear you can head back and talk to Dwalton, he will give the green light for round two of the hunt. This time you need to find Forest Dweller’s Shield at the bottom of the tree.

Forest Dweller’s Shield Location

Glide your way down all the way to the entry of the Big Deku Tree, if you use the Ultra Hand ability you’re going to notice the shield located right at the top of the tree entry, grab it down and take it.

Forest Dweller’s Bow

Now that you have acquired all three gears, head back to Dwalton at the top of the tree. After a short conversation, Walton will reward you with the Forest Dweller’s Bow.

Are the Forest Dweller’s Weapons Worth It?

The Forest Dweller’s weapons provide one of the most helpful effects in the game. Normally, if you connect a bursting item to your weapon, it will evaporate after one use, but the Forest Dweller’s weapons allow you to use it indefinitely at the penalty of a little cool-down time. To demonstrate how it works, I hooked a Dazzlefruit to my sword in the screenshot above.

All of the Keeses were knocked out with a single swing; you can now switch to your main weapon and finish them off. The same is true with Puffshrooms or any other bursting material; simply attach it to your dweller’s gear and watch the magic happen.
