The Thunder Gleeok is one of three elemental dragons around Hyrule, as its name indicates this fearsome dragon’s strength lay in the ability to use lightning attacks. In order to defeat the Thunder Gleeok, the player needs some time to prepare with the proper gear, a lot of food, and a bunch of shock-resistant elixirs. In today’s guide, we are going to guide you through the battle against the Thunder Gleeok including battle preparations, the monster’s weakness, and the attack patterns.
As I previously stated, our primary preparations will be to prevent lightning strikes, which can be accomplished by consuming shock-resistant foods or Electro Elixirs. Another very efficient approach to get shock resistance is to wear the Lightning Helm. The Helm can be obtained by completing the Yiga Clan trial at their Hideout; if you need assistance, you can refer to our guide on the topic.
Another thing to avoid here is the metal weapons, shields, and bows. You can replace them with wood weapons or Zonaite gear, with this type of weapon you’re going to avoid the lightning strike coming from the sky since any metal gear will draw the strikes toward you.
During the initial phase, the Thunder Gleeok will be able to launch two to three primary assaults. A lightning bolt, thunderbolts, and a gust of wind pushing you away. Our primary goal will be to attack each of the Gleeok eyeballs, which we can easily do using Keese Eyeballs or attacking from above. Attacking from above enables you to gain momentum with the slow-motion shoot, allowing you to finish off the three monster heads at the same time in a quick and accurate manner.
After you finish off the three Thunder Gleeok heads, he will tumble to the ground. At this point, you can switch back to your more powerful metal gear and slam the attack button to take off large parts of his health bar. After a few seconds, the Thunder Gleeok will be back on his feet, so remember to put back your wood/Zonai gear and repeat the process a few times.
After taking out two-thirds of the Thunder Gleeok’s health, he will fly up high in the sky and start sending thunder shocks from the sky. You can easily avoid thunder attacks since you can see them before hitting the ground. Once the attacks hit the ground a huge gush of wind will appear, use the wind to glide up in the sky, and keep changing between the line of wind until you reach the Thunder Gleeok in the sky. For the final time, utilize slow motion to finish off the monster heads one by one; if successful, he will finally fall to his death.
After defeating the Thunder Gleeok, you will receive one item for each of his heads, resulting in three Gleeok Thunder Horns that can work as an incredible fusion material with up to 30 fuse attack power and an additional thunder attack bonus. Another three Gleeok Wings that are quite valuable when paired with arrows, and last but not least, you might get one Gleeok Guts that can be merged with other components to create super powerful elixirs.
