Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - How to Get Hylian Shield

Alongside the Master Sword, the Hylian Shield is the trademark of the Zelda franchise, offering the classic look of Link and one of the greatest shields in Tears of the Kingdom. In today’s guide, we’re going to walk you through this legendary shield location deep within the dark side of Hyrule Castle.

Lookout Landing Skyview Tower

The Lookout Landing Skyview Tower is our first stop. From there, we’ll use the Skyview tower to fly up in the air and glide down into Hyrule Castle. Our goal, as seen in the screenshots, is to reach the red dot spot beneath Hyrule Castle. When you arrive, release the glider and drop until you find a little hole between the rocks. Glide forward until you reach the designated place.

Gloom Hand and Phantom Ganon

Next, we’re going to keep moving to the left over the ledge, just a little bit forward you’re going to meet Gloom Hands. You have two choices here, either you jump into the water and take an alternative way to avoid it or you confront the Gloom Hands just like I did. The easiest way to defeat the Gloom Hands is by simply showering them with bomb arrows, electric arrows are also super effective. Once defeated Phantom Ganon will appear, the fight is not that hard if you keep raising your shield while switching back and forth between attack and defense.

Hylian Shield Location

Once defeated, keep going to the left until you meet giant stairs, climb the stairs one more time. Now you’re going to notice a huge torch in the middle of the room all you need to do is light the torch. Lighting the torch will reveal the treasure chest location leading you to the legendary Hylian Shield.
