The Frost Gleeok is one of three elemental dragons in Tears of the Kingdom, confronting the Frost Gleeok is very challenging since most of its attacks are unbreakable. The Frost Gleeok can be found exclusively in snowy areas including multiple regions around Hyrule. Today, we’ll walk you through this boss encounter, detailing the primary monster’s vulnerability, attack style, and combat preparations.

Battle Preparations

As you all know the Frost Gleeok is an elemental monster, so first of all we need weapons that work against frost. Gather as many fire fruits as you can. Also, fuse some fire-based monster parts to your weapon, as you can see in the picture I fused some of my weapons including the master sword and several other one-handed swords. After that make sure that you have enough food to heal, the Gleeok attacks are super strong and you’re going to need to heal after each mistake.

The next thing will be the cold-resistant armor, fighting in a cold area without proper armor will cost you a lot of your hearts, so you need to be in full gear. Last but not least are the monster Eyeballs, fusing these parts with your arrows will make the battle a little bit easy since our main goal will be to shoot the three Frost Gleeok eyeballs.

First Phase

The first phase will mostly be on the ground even though the monster can fly he will not fly out of your bow range. Our main goal here is to shoot down each one of the three monsters’ eyeballs, you can do this by simply aiming and shooting, but that’s not very easy since the monster will send freezing beams toward you. Fire arrows are super effective here since you can one shot each head instead of two shots with a raw arrow.

Your next best bet is to reach up for a higher area and glide your way in the sky, aiming mid-air offers a slow-motion shoot where you can take your time to carefully shoot each and every eye of the Frost Gleeok.

Monster eyeballs are the third best way to properly shoot Gleeok eyes; you can shoot from the ground, creating homing arrows that will curve and strike the monster eyeballs no matter how you aim. If you’re having trouble aiming at the moving monster, this strategy is really helpful.

After successfully hitting the three Frost Gleeok eyeballs he will fall down in pain, now you can take the opportunity to deal some massive damage. Head for the monster’s head and smash that attack button, as you can see in the picture I’m using a fire-based sword to deal some extra damage.

Second Phase

After taking down the third of the Frost Gleeok health, the monster will enter the second and final phase. Unlike the first phase, this part is very challenging so you need to be fast and effective. The Frost Gleeok will fly up in the sky way out of your reach, as you see on the screenshots he will create a frosty cloud and start sending snow boulders toward you.

You need to be very careful here and keep moving to avoid the incoming boulders. After the boulders hit the ground you need to climb one of them as fast as possible, once you’re on the top of it use recall to climb up in the sky where the dragon is waiting for you.

Once the boulder makes it back to its initial place you will be launched into the air, use the glider to approach the dragon and shoot his three eyes. The slow-motion feature can be quite helpful here but you need to one-shot each of the dragon’s heads as fast as possible. You can use flame arrows or some keese eyeballs. For the last time, the Frost Gleeok will fall down to the ground. Follow him one more time to finish the battle once and for all.

Rewards

Just like the other two Gleeoks the reward here is very generous, I mean the battle is not that easy but the reward is well worth the time and equipment. You can get three Gleeok Frost Horns, these horns can make up amazing weapons in addition to the frost elemental attack bonus, and three more Gleeok Wings that can be used both on weapons and arrows offering a decent fusing bonus, and a special bonus when fused with arrows.
